Description
Untested. One strut has flaking orange surface rust on the steel collar at its lower ball-socket end, and the brand decals on both bodies are cracked with age. No box, paperwork or mounting hardware is included. These are electric motorised struts and are not back-drivable by hand, so a function test needs them fitted to the vehicle. A-Premium pair of power liftgate actuator struts, left and right, for the Ford Explorer. The maker's own label on the harness reads EXPLORER 2020-2023. Replaces Ford LB5B-S402A55AE, LB5B-S402A55AD, LB5Z-14B351-A, LB5Z-14B351-C, LB5Z-14B351-D and 3A707255. Those Ford numbers also list on the 2024 Explorer and the 2019 Police Interceptor Utility, which are outside the maker's stated range - please check your own part number before ordering. Both bodies are laser-marked PHLS55AE0-1-C; the individual unit numbers are H092530324 and H092530317. They plug straight into the factory connector. Both ball-socket cups still hold clean pale grease with their retaining clips fitted, the tubes are straight with no dents or fluid weeping, and neither body carries road dirt or mounting marks. The power liftgate strut is the motorised arm that drives the tailgate open and closed. When one fails the gate typically opens part way, drops, or refuses to power at all, and they are replaced as a pair because the second is the same age as the first.
