About Clearance Vault

Hi, I'm George. I started Clearance Vault in Charlotte, North Carolina in 2023, buying overstock and returned goods by the pallet and passing them on for a lot less than they cost new.

It's a small operation, and that is the point. Every item here was picked out, checked and photographed by hand before it went up, so what you see on a listing is the actual unit you'll receive, not a manufacturer's stock photo of one like it.

Where the stock comes from

Liquidation lots, overstock, shelf pulls and customer returns, mostly from large retailers clearing space. A single pallet might hold a set of brake calipers, an area rug and a coffee grinder, which is why the categories on this site have so little to do with each other. New stock lands most weeks, and once an item sells there usually isn't another one.

What the condition labels mean

Everything is graded before it goes up and the grade is on the listing. New means sealed and untouched. New, open box means the packaging was opened and the item is unused. New, missing parts means what it says, and the price reflects it. The used grades run from like new down to poor, and anything broken is sold as broken. Nothing gets described as better than it is, because a return costs me more than the sale was worth.

Buying from here, or somewhere else

Shipping is free to the lower 48, and local pickup in the Charlotte area can be arranged by appointment. Our refunds and returns page covers the return window and what happens if something arrives wrong.

The same stock is listed on eBay, Poshmark, Depop and Mercari, so you may well have found me there first. Buying direct is what keeps a marketplace fee out of the sale, which is what lets me price the way I do. Either way it's the same item off the same shelf.
